09 Jul Slow time callout provides an opportunity for coxswain training
At 13:00 on Sunday, Gosport Lifeboat received a request from Solent Coastguard to assist a vessel which had broken down and was drifting off Horse Sands Fort.
As the two persons on board were safe and well. At the time, one of our Trainee Coxswains James was on board the lifeboat. Alongside the duty coxswain Brian, James was able to use this opportunity to practice his towing skills in a low acuity situation. The vessel was safely towed back to Stokes Bay where it was recovered by its owners.
This was incident 42 of 2019.
